Car Free Days Out from Windemere Marina Village

Why not leave the car for the day and take the 20 minute lakeside walk to Windermere Lake cruises Bowness pier. The family friendly combination ticket is a great option for a fun filled day out.

Enjoy a 40 minute boat cruise to Lakeside pier at the southern tip of Windermere – taking in the stunning houses that line the eastern shore.

From the pier the aquarium is just a 2 minute walk away with something to see for all the family including fish, otters, lizards and snakes. Home to an impressive under water tunnel where native British fish are waiting to be discovered, celebrating the best of the seaside plunge your imagination into the rock pools and the sea life of Morecambe Bay.

The fun doesn’t stop there located next door is the Lakeside station where you can hop on a steam train. Taking a journey back in time down the line, stop off at the station café for a traditional afternoon tea. Before tracing your steps back to Bowness seeing spectacular sunsets and wildlife on the way.
