Haverthwaite

Saturdays and Sundays Throughout December

At Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, travel back in time when you climb aboard our steam train. A distant memory of bygone years for some and a new experience for others, it’s a unique day out for all. For the Tinsel Trains in 2026 your first class compartment will be embellished with all things ‘Christmassy’ and filled with seasonal tunes, it’s the perfect environment to soak up the festive atmosphere.

Whilst onboard our ‘porter’ will serve adults with a seasonal drink and snack.

After meeting the colourful Christmas Characters, Father Christmas will visit your family’s compartment. Don’t forget to leave a space for  Father Christmas to sit as he joins you to give out presents to all the good children. Take this opportunity to capture a memorable family photo with Father Christmas.
