May Bank Holiday breaks in the Lake District

Spend a bank holiday in the stunning Lake District

Just 80 miles from Manchester or Liverpool the Lake District is the perfect location for a 3 night break with family or friends.

Windermere Marina Village is ideally placed, just 15 miles from the M6 – avoid the traffic and take the B5284 along the edge of the Lake District National Park direct to our door. Along the route you’ll find the Michelin starred Gilpin Hotel and the more relaxed Gilpin Spice, stop off for lunch and have the perfect start to your break.

When you arrive at Windermere Marina leave the car in your dedicated parking space and take the 15 minute lakeside path into Bowness. Here you’ll find bars, restaurants and cafes with lake views, log fires and tasty treats – perfect for those precious days away with loved ones.

For an energetic day out take the car ferry to the quieter eastern shore of Windermere, enjoy a quick coffee stop at Joeys then take the 5 mile lakeside path to Wray Castle. For the relaxing return route Windermere Lake Cruises run a seasonal service to Bowness on traditional wooden launches.

Availability for some of our most popular dates is below.

Our friendly reservations team are available 7 days a week from 9am to 5.30pm – they know each and every one of our properties and are happy to advise on the options available for your stay at Windermere Marina Village.
