Immerse yourself with Beatrix Potter's most famous characters and spend a day learning about everything that inspired one of the Lake Districts most famous export! Visit Hill Top where Beatrix Potter took her inspiration from, or (for the younger members of the family) visit The World Of Beatrix Potter in Bowness to see many of Beatrix's creations bought to life, take in afternoon tea with Peter Rabbit himself, or join in the Easter Egg Hunt! Why not leave the car for the day? All these attractions are easily accessible straight from your front door at Windermere Marina Village
Visit the Wordsworth Trust to step back and take in what inspired one of the Lake District's famous poem - I wandered lonely as a cloud, That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Take a walk round Rydal Water, suitable for all the family and following in Wordsworths' footsteps, and don't forget to stock up on Grasmere Gingerbread while you're passing! For walks closer to your front door take a look at our favourites here.
Spend a day hunting Easter Eggs with the National Trust! With over 10 properties almost on your doorstep in Windermere, there's plenty of choice to enjoy a day out.
A firm favourite with our Easter guests year after year is Wray Castle. On the shores of Lake Windermere, it's a 5 mile / 2 hour lake shore walk from your front door and, for tired legs and heavy pockets stuffed with chocolate, there's the option of taking a Windermere Lake Cruise back to Bowness!
