Pet Friendly

Nestled overlooking the lagoon within Windermere Marina Village, our Ambleside cottages are conveniently situated near Bowness village, making them ideal for families and small groups seeking a 5-person holiday retreat, they are pet friendly too.

From the front, step into hallway and hang your outdoor coats before taking the stairs leading to the cosy lounge, private balcony and well equipped kitchen-diner.

Within the lounge area there is a pull-down double bed that folds away when it’s not in use. The is great for larger groups who don’t need 3 bedrooms.

You'll find an electric hob and oven, full size fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The cupboards are well stocked with plenty of crockery to ensure you have everything you need. Plate up and enjoy a hearty English breakfast at the wooden dining table before heading out to explore the delightful Lake District towns and villages.

Slide open the balcony doors from the lounge and you’ll find a table and chairs to enjoy that first cuppa outside or an aperitif before heading out for dinner in the evening.

Stairs from the lounge lead down to a single bedroom and Master bedroom sharing in a family bathroom with a bath tub, perfect for enjoying a post-walk soak with your chosen holiday read or playlist.

These self-catering properties have been carefully decorated and furnished to offer a relaxing escape. Built in traditional Lakeland slate, the properties offer that "Lakeland character" combined with quality furnishings.

Perfect for us

Windermere marina village is a great place for a break. South of Bowness, it is nice and secluded and despite the many properties is peaceful and relaxed Easy walking distance from Bowness means there is no need to worry about getting your car around the busy roads as the transport links are excellent.A super restaurant and bar, The Boathouse, on site provides a relaxing place to eat and drink while watching the boats The on site staff are friendly and helpful and available if needed. We will be back!

Great weekend
4 stars
Impressed with friendliness and helpfulness of the Windermere Marina Village staff. We encountered a small issue, reported it to reception and it was dealt with and solved before we walked back to the accommodation. A true mark of customer service, thank you. The property was clean, a little tired but what a great place to spend a relaxing weekend. A nod to the restaurant serving quality dishes.

Another Great Break
5 stars
We have been visiting Windermere Marina Village for around 40 years and we still enjoy our stays. We have had all sorts of weather from glorious sunshine to near flooding but the weather isnt important to us, its the relaxing and comfortable accommodation and the friendly atmosphere which brings us back. It was cold and a bit damp this week but we still had a great time. Thank you.

Nice stay at Windermere Marina
4.2 stars
Stayed at 4 Ambleside which had convenient parking right outside front door. Although not as pristine as some of the newer apartments in the complex it had everything you need for a couple but might be a bit too bijou for a family. Well located for Bowness but the walk into the centre a bit further than anticipated so ended up driving into the village for restaurants in the evening. A big plus is The Boathouse restaurant on site where we had an excellent meal our first night. Although the website gives the impression that there is a facility to bring a boat for your stay in reality launching and storage is very limited, especially in high season. Worth checking first with reception well in advance if you plan to trail your boat. The apartment was quiet and we had a pleasant and comfortable stay.

Windermere Marina is one of our bolt holes and we visit every year , sometimes twice . The position of the complex is perfect . Away from the bustle of the town but an easy walk into the centre when you want . What could be nicer than walking along the lake shore every morning ! We have a small dog who agrees Windermere Marina is doggy heaven . Standard of the accommodation is excellent , home from home . Staff on site very helpful and handy to have a restaurant and bar on site too. All in all there is nothing not too like . If you dont want to use the car then a bus stops right outside the resort . A great base to stay for exploring .

No marina view
3.7 stars
We've stayed at Marina village a few times. We didn't realise until the week prior to arriving that it had no Marina view. It was disappointing, the up keep of the gardens are not to a very high standard. I would not stay in this property again, I look to book a Marina view.
